Kyiv is a city with unique potential, but without clear rules of the game.

Anna Iskierdo shared her thoughts exclusively with @nv.ua: why the capital operates without an updated master plan, how chaotic development is destroying the historic environment, and why real change begins not with the government, but with the community.

This isn’t just analysis—it’s a reflection on the future of a city that deserves a systematic approach, respect for its heritage, and the responsibility of every individual.

For us, running isn’t just about sports. It’s about community, symbolism, and faith in Victory.

The route is traditional: from the Monument to the Founders of Kyiv to Poshtova Square and back along the Dnipro River. It’s a place of strength and unity that brings us together around the main goal—supporting our defenders.

For me, every charity event is an opportunity to bring together the community of the Ukrainian Chamber of Architects Foundation and to promote support for the First Presidential Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine “Bureviy” at a time when it’s so easy to say, “We’re tired of the war.”

Last time, we raised 200,000 UAH for the “Bureviy” Brigade—thanks to these funds, the soldiers received fuses and detonators. We also held four charity art auctions and raised a total of about 2 million UAH to purchase drones.

This time, our Independence Day run once again demonstrated how architects, designers, friends, and partners can come together. This is the power of the Architects’ Wings community, which believes in change and makes it possible.

Today, Osokorky suffers from haphazard high-rise development lacking proper infrastructure. Traffic jams, a shortage of schools, kindergartens, and parking spaces, and a lack of green spaces are the main problems in this area. We have tried to take these factors into account and create a residential complex that will stand out significantly from its neighbors.

Let’s take a closer look at the Dnipro Island residential complex. It consists of four low-rise buildings set in a landscaped area. It will be a true oasis amidst the concrete jungle of this neighborhood. It will be cozy and peaceful, created by the specialists of our AIMM design team.

The project is rooted in a deep respect for the future residents of the complex. We designed it with a human scale and a focus on comfort in mind. We also paid careful attention to the thoughtful landscaping of the courtyards.

The complex’s architecture is impressive. The cascade of terraces not only transforms the facade’s appearance but also adds variety and functionality to the apartment layouts inside. Construction is currently underway, and we’re already looking forward to the completion of the first phase!

Together with Mark Marchenko, we presented CENTRAL PARK, the largest residential complex in Transcarpathia!

This project is all about synergy and a strong partnership built on experience and trust.

The word “proud” doesn’t quite capture the depth of my feelings for the team of architects, marketers, visionaries, and owners who have been working on this project for nearly three years!

What should a modern residential complex be like? The current trend in architecture is human-centered design.

This is reflected in the approach to design and the philosophy behind the layout of the space. From the big picture down to the smallest details.

Low-rise buildings, comfortable amenities with ample greenery, and additional services and retail within a 10-minute walk.

We present our new residential complex project in Lviv.

A cozy low-rise neighborhood development with comfortable amenities, green roofs, and varying building heights that shape the exterior appearance of the buildings.

The landscaping combines a variety of green and recreational areas. Everything is designed so that residents of the neighborhood feel at one with nature and can relax and spend their free time without leaving the residential complex.

The facades are unique. While the different exterior designs of the sections contrast with one another, they blend harmoniously to form a cohesive composition.

Form, color, rhythm—everything has been taken into account!

I’ve compiled a list of the top three things to know about investing in art, based on an interesting discussion by Demetrio Felice at a construction conference where the main topic was investment.

We discussed the synergy between art and business with experts.  Art today is a powerful tool for influence, inspiration, and even an investment opportunity. Today, creativity is not just about the possibility of self-expression.

– For art to be an investment rather than a collection, education is needed for a wide range of investors.

– Selling and investing work well through the synergy of different businesses; for example, the Avangarden restaurant, which serves food and exhibits art for sale at the same time

– Art as a means of raising funds for charitable projects

As part of the Architects’ Wings project, a major fundraising campaign called “Wings of KNUBA” was held in December–January 2024–2025 to support the School of Drone Pilots and Electronic Warfare for the First Presidential Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine “Bureviy,” where the Faculty of Architecture at Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture raised 192,000 UAH.

Forty-two groups participated in the “Wings of KNUBA” fundraiser, and 11 winners were selected from among them.

We are very grateful to all the participants who joined us, to the university for supporting these initiatives, and to Ukrainian businesses for their gifts and support of youth and the volunteer movement.
