Supporting Future Architects: AIMM and the Steel Freedom Competition

For several years now, we have been supporting the top participants in the Steel Freedom student competition. For us, this is not a mere formality, but a sustained effort to work with those who will shape the country’s architecture in the years to come.

AIMM co-founder and creative director Anna Iskierdo is also serving on the competition jury this year, as is our tradition. Separately, we will select a team of finalists who will receive €1,000 for their education.

The architecture and construction sector is changing faster than traditional education can keep up with these changes. Therefore, our support for young professionals is a way to expand their opportunities and help them master the tools needed in real-world practice.

By investing in their education today, we are investing in the quality of our country’s architecture in the future.

Is the Ukrainian Construction Market Ready for New Challenges?

We often hear about reconstruction and international investment. But is the Ukrainian construction market ready to take on new challenges?

Maksym Myatko, CEO and co-owner of the AIMM architectural firm, analyzes the gap between investors’ expectations and the reality of our market exclusively for Liga.net.

One of the key issues is the perception of BIM technologies. For many, it’s still just a pretty 3D image. For the world, it’s a construction operating system that saves millions and makes projects transparent

We have been implementing BIM systems for over 11 years. We know that investors want to see not just drawings, but managed risks and the project’s lifecycle.

Why do we risk losing our partners’ trust if we don’t change our approach? Read about it in our new article here

ONOKY River Club – an investment

ONOKY River Club is a club-style apartment resort and the most anticipated investment project in Transcarpathia. We have combined the “Balinese vibe” with the unique nature of the Carpathians. The complex forms a multifunctional environment where everyone will find their ideal vacation scenario.

We have integrated cottages and apartments into the landscape, surrounding them with high-quality infrastructure, including a 1,000-meter promenade, a large Wellness SPA, several pools, restaurants, and a separate kids’ club. At the heart of our architectural design is a self-sustaining ecosystem focused on long-term sustainability and quality of life.

Krauss Gallery – Contemporary Architecture in the Heart of Historic Kyiv

Krauss Gallery is our project in the very heart of Kyiv, demonstrating how contemporary architecture can be seamlessly integrated into the historic built environment.

We created a facade with a unique feature: the two lower floors are clad in 3D glass, which transforms into a stunning light show in the evening. This place will become a new destination for strolls.

To preserve the open space of the streets, we designed four levels of underground parking.

All utility lines are routed to the roof in a single unit. This allowed us to create clean facades without external air conditioning units and accessible rooftops without unnecessary shafts and ducts.

No two apartments inside are alike. This is a quiet, club-style residence with personalized solutions. Residents have access to terraces with views, a gym, a lounge area, and a children’s room.

Ramada Nusa Dua – the first branded art hotel in Nusa Dua

Ramada Nusa Dua is the first branded art hotel in Nusa Dua, Bali, embodying the global Art & Wellness trend. The AIMM team has created a complex where art is woven into the very fabric of the property. We developed an architectural concept that transforms the hotel into a living gallery for emotional renewal, skillfully integrating five-star amenities: a spa, restaurant, coworking space, art rooftop, fitness center, and pools.

This property is managed by the global leader Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, ensuring high-quality service and customer trust. It is a landmark project shaping new resort landscapes. Ramada Nusa Dua is a new destination in Bali and a unique, unforgettable experience.

This award is the result of the collaborative efforts of many professionals: architects, landscape designers, and engineers.

Thank you to RRG Real Estate Group for your collaboration. We continue to work on creating high-quality urban spaces.

Transforming 100 Hectares into a Fully-Fledged Urban District

We are designing a new vision for a 100-hectare site.

Today we are discussing work on the industrial zone revitalization project; a detailed master plan for the area is being developed and approved.

A comfortable and well-planned residential and community neighborhood will be created here.

The plans involve revitalizing the industrial zone, giving some of the buildings and the area a completely new function and integrating them into the modern urban landscape. After all, building entirely “from scratch” isn’t the ideal solution.

We’re working to transform the former industrial zone into a vibrant, functional, and unique neighborhood in Kyiv.

HORIZONS & ZAG-GALLERY – Nominees for the 2026 Mies van der Rohe Awards

We have some incredible news. The HORIZONS & ZAG-GALLERY business center has been nominated for the 2026 Mies van der Rohe Architecture Award!

The renovation of the institute building at ZAG Gallery serves as an example of a creative approach to preserving the existing structure of the environment. The building’s form combines a glass shell with decorative elements shaped like “little books,” creating a harmonious composition. An innovative solution was the use of aluminum as the primary material for the facade, which allowed us to achieve the desired visual effect while maintaining the structure’s lightness.

The Mies van der Rohe Award is the highest honor for contemporary architecture in Europe, often referred to as the European “Architectural Oscar.” It recognizes projects that demonstrate excellence and innovation, setting trends and highlighting the cultural and social significance of architecture. Being nominated for this award means joining the ranks of the continent’s finest architectural works.

Kyiv Without Rules: The Chaos of Development and Community Responsibility

Kyiv is a city with unique potential, but without clear rules of the game.

Anna Iskierdo shared her thoughts exclusively with @nv.ua: why the capital operates without an updated master plan, how chaotic development is destroying the historic environment, and why real change begins not with the government, but with the community.

This isn’t just analysis—it’s a reflection on the future of a city that deserves a systematic approach, respect for its heritage, and the responsibility of every individual.

The Architects’ Wings Charity Run—and I ran for the first time!

For us, running isn’t just about sports. It’s about community, symbolism, and faith in Victory.

The route is traditional: from the Monument to the Founders of Kyiv to Poshtova Square and back along the Dnipro River. It’s a place of strength and unity that brings us together around the main goal—supporting our defenders.

For me, every charity event is an opportunity to bring together the community of the Ukrainian Chamber of Architects Foundation and to promote support for the First Presidential Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine “Bureviy” at a time when it’s so easy to say, “We’re tired of the war.”

Last time, we raised 200,000 UAH for the “Bureviy” Brigade—thanks to these funds, the soldiers received fuses and detonators. We also held four charity art auctions and raised a total of about 2 million UAH to purchase drones.

This time, our Independence Day run once again demonstrated how architects, designers, friends, and partners can come together. This is the power of the Architects’ Wings community, which believes in change and makes it possible.

I believe there will be even more of us next time. If this resonates with you and you’d like to join our charity events—let us know in the comments or via DM
