Dacha is a home where children recover faster in the arms of their relatives. Together with the Zaporuka Charitable Foundation, we designed and built a center for 15 families, where children and their relatives can live while they undergo treatment at the National Cancer Institute.

The building is two-story, has a separate ground storage, an autonomous boiler room.

At the time of our acquaintance, the Dacha project was already eight years old. So, it has already formed its own atmosphere, its own way of life, its own character. We often visited there in order not to miss a single detail when creating a new house. It was important to take everything into account so as not to lose, first of all, the unique “spirituality” of the space.

We have always admired Waldorf schools, their approach to teaching children. In my opinion, “Dacha” as a phenomenon is close to them in spirit. For her, the most important values ​​are a dignified attitude towards each child’s personality, strengthening their faith in their own strength and creating favorable conditions for recovery and development.

Therefore, our building has an atypical architecture – bright, asymmetrical, with a multi-level roof, with windows and doors, the sizes of which are adapted to children, the absence of right angles and strictly flat walls. It’s like in nature, where harmony has nothing to do with clear geometric shapes. We have created a space beyond the usual boundaries. At the same time, so that it fully meets its main purpose.
